Message from Sister Kathy (Regional Councillor of Dominican Sisters of South Africa, responsible for Constitutional Matters in Independent Dominican Schools)

Dear Parents

My name is Sr Kathy Gaylor, and I have some background in the governance of Schools, both Independent and Public, particularly the governance of Catholic Schools. I have been asked to facilitate the process of establishing a new Constitution for Springfield Convent School, and I would value having an opportunity to hear from you, listen to your perspective, and engage in some discussion moving forward, if that emerges as a need.

Open Day 2020

On Saturday 8 February the Senior School hosted its annual Open Day for prospective pupils. On what was a beautiful summer's morning prospective pupils and their parents and families were taken on a tour of the senior campus. The tours were led by one of the 2020 matics who was accompanied by a grade 8 pupil.

On the tour, prospective pupils and parents had the opportunity to see some of the many academic , sporting and cultural activities that take place on a daily basis as well as having the opportunity to ask questions about life at Springfield. The feedback from visitors was very positive and there were many compliments on the friendliness and competence of the pupils and staff.We always say that our biggest asset at Springfield is our people, Saturdays Open Day confirmed this!

So, a huge vote of thanks goes out to all the girls and staff who either led tours or helped out in the various departments around the school, as well as the support staff who worked behind the scenes - you are all examples of what makes our school great!
