WCED Roadshows
With our academic departments currently attending the WCED Roadshows, which provide our staff with further feedback from the 2019 NSC exams as well as with training regarding the curriculum developments in Grades 8 - 11 for 2020, news about the achievements of individual subject departments at Springfield continues to arrive. The statistics regarding the highest subject averages in the province have been released and it is notable that Springfield offers four of five of the subjects at the top of this list, namely Xhosa SAL, Visual Arts, Dramatic Arts and Music. Other subjects in the top ten included Afrikaans FAL and Information Technology. Congratulations to the teaching teams in each of these departments.
Reddam House Careers Evening
Reddam House College in Constantia is once again hosting their popular annual careers evening. The 2020 Careers Expo will take place on Tuesday, 10 March and all Springfield students, along with their families, are welcome to attend. Students from all grades are welcome, but the Expo will be of particular value to Grade 9 students, who will make their FET subject choices later this year, as well as Grade 11 and 12 students. The expo starts at 17:00 and runs until 19:00. Due to the interactive nature of the evening, students are welcome to pop in at any time and stay for as long as they wish.
