Space Foundation Teacher Professional Development
A week-long project-based educator professional development workshop that will inspire, educate, and empower educators through the power of STEM learning. Participants will receive tools, resources, and materials that are adaptable to any learning environment.
Course A: Project Asteria – A Lunar Outpost
Participants in this course will learn how to train the next generation of scientists, engineers, and space explorers for positions within the aerospace community. Through an immersive, project-based learning, educational experience, participants will embark on a journey to develop the very first human lunar outpost, culminating in a presentation that addresses all things required for a new space civilization.

The 37th Space Symposium held in Colorado Springs, Colorado on April 4-7, 2022 is a professional development and networking event focused on the international and US space industry. Participants are from around the world and various facets of the space sector including science, engineering, law/policy, business/commerce, medicine, media, military, and government. Through breakout sessions, expert panels, keynote presentations, and interactive activities, these selected delegates will “fuse” their unique perspectives and backgrounds to formulate solutions to global problems of interest and importance to the space community.
Conference for the Advancement of Science Teaching (CAST) is a professional development conference providing educators with innovative teaching strategies and lesson plans. The conference was held in Fort Worth, November 11–13, 2021.
The conferences had hands-on STEM workshops promoting positive change and opportunities for teachers in high need schools.
Breakout! Creating Digital Escape Games presented by Dodi Resendez.
This workshop showed teachers how to create escape room challenges for students and allow them to think critically and creatively while working together to solve puzzles within a time limit. I learn how to use free online tools to create digital escape games that challenge students to apply what they have learned while supporting STEM fluency skills, including critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication.

Nearpod offers K-12 interactive lessons, videos, and formative assessments. Built for distance learning, hybrid, and school-based settings. Nearpod has over 8,000+ lessons in the library to use or modify to make it your own. Teachers can use their lesson and make it an interactive lesson that is engaging to students. Students can all participate at the same time. I learned to add an activity using Nearpod 3D, Virtual Fieldtrip, and Collaborative Board.
