Dear St Peter’s Community,
We conclude 2025 with joy, surrounded by children who have celebrated their love of learning and life through a range of meaningful activities. From the magic of our school carols performance to the excitement of the Colour Fun Run, along with the many individual class celebrations, the final weeks have beautifully captured the spirit, energy and enthusiasm that make our school such a special place.
Firstly, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to our dedicated staff who worked with the Parish to make the carols event such a success. Fr Anil and the parishioners were deeply appreciative of our parent volunteers and of all staff who remain committed to building positive, inclusive relationships with our school and parish families. While I do not usually like to single out individuals, I must acknowledge Stacey Herden, our music and drama specialist, who worked her magic throughout the term in preparing the children so beautifully. My thanks also to Rachael Evans, who was an absolute star as MC and integral to the smooth running of the evening. It was also lovely to work in partnership with Josephine Di Giacomo who leads our Mini Mozarts Music School giving the children further opportunity to share their talents.
We now look forward to farewelling our Year 6 students on Thursday at their Graduation Mass, followed by a special time together as we acknowledge and celebrate their years at St Peter’s.
Children will find out their 2026 teachers on Step Up Day, Monday 15 December. That evening, families will receive a link to book an assessment time on one of the first two days of the 2026 school year. Please refer to the dates within for our return-to-school schedule. A reminder that children will be dismissed at 12pm on Tuesday 16 December.
Please work your way through the various tabs in the newsletter as there is important information to ensure a smooth transition to the 2026 year.
As I reflect on the year, I cannot help but feel truly blessed to be part of the St Peter's School community. The children brighten my day, and our staff are exceptional, their unwavering commitment to their work, their support for one another, and their deep care for every child is something incredibly special. My sincere thanks to Fr Anil, the Parish, and our parent community for your encouragement throughout the year and for the warmth you bring to our school. As MACS have not yet appointed a suitable permanent principal, I have been asked to continue on for another year to ensure consistency and continuity for staff and families. The appointment process is scheduled for later in 2026 with a new Principal to begin in 2027.
As we look ahead, I wish to acknowledge the support I receive from Fr Anil and the staff and I trust this support extends to our parent community as well. Please know that if you have any concerns, I am always available and happy to discuss them with you.
I wish every family at St Peter’s a beautiful Christmas and a happy, safe holiday. I look forward to returning in 2026 for another year of peace, joy and harmony.
Warm regards,
Anne
