School Community Councils
Supporting Our Students by Connecting Schools and the Community
Making a Difference
School Community Councils (SCCs) work co-operatively with schools to support opportunities for student learning, growth, and well-being. Members of the SCC, get to:
• share responsibility for the success and well-being of all children and youth; and,
• encourage parent, community and youth engagement in school planning and improvement.
We make a difference.
Listening
School Community Councils (SCCs) are school-based advisory bodies that involve parents, students, community members and school staff, working together on issues that affect student learning and community well-being.
We want to hear your voice.
Learning
As a community member, you understand the community needs, objectives and resources available to support student learning and well-being.
We value your knowledge.
Collaborating
The SCC is made up of people from your community. Parents, caregivers, students, elders, teachers, and your local Principal are all part of the team.
We want you on the team.
Get Involved
If you are interested in learning more about your local School Community Council and how you can be part of the team, feel free to contact your school’s principal. They will have all the information you need.
