My name is Amanda Perez Chewning. I grew up in Cranford, New Jersey where I fell in love with teaching thanks to outstanding elementary teachers. I attended The Pennsylvania State University for Human Development and Family Studies and graduated from Montclair State University with a BA in English and a concentration in secondary education. During my years teaching English Language Arts and Writing, I have grown as an educator and discovered that my passion lies in the media center where I can instill a love of learning and reading mixed with science, math, and technology. I recently graduated from William Paterson's Masters of Education program with a concentration in School Library Media Studies.

As a school library media center specialist, I'm eager to utilize my strong background in culturally responsive teaching, differentiated and individualized instruction, and technology integration to serve the students at Brunner Elementary School!
