Mrs. Johnson's 7th Grade Language Arts

Welcome to 7th Grade Language Arts!  In this class we will:

• Write clear, organized essays with support and evidence.

• Read a whole class novel and participate in independent reading (student choice)

• Implement close reading strategies with short stories and informational text.

• Improve grammar and spelling

• Expand vocabulary (connotation/denotation)

• Properly cite sources using MLA format

• Analyze figurative language devices
