Mrs. Johnson's 7th Grade Language Arts

Welcome to 7th Grade Language Arts!  In this class we will:

• Write clear, organized essays with support and evidence.

• Read a whole-class novel and participate in independent reading (student choice).

• Implement close reading strategies with short stories and informational texts.

• Improve grammar and spelling.

• Expand vocabulary (connotation and denotation).

• Properly cite sources using MLA format.

• Analyze figurative language.
