Career Planning is a one-semester course, meeting 90 minutes every other day, on the Block Schedule. In this course we will cover interest/skills evaluations, career searches, job applications, scholarship requirements, resume preparation, portfolio completion, job interviewing, and job shadowing. This course is recommended for all Juniors. There are no prerequisites, but passing this course with at least a B is a prerequisite for being in the SHS Internship Program.

Internship information:
Grade of B or higher in Career Planning
2.0 GPA
No more than 10 excused absences during the year prior to the internship
No unexcused absences during the year prior to the internship
No history of being removed from any class for misbehavior or suspended from school for any reason during the year prior to internship
Internships are not intended to be with family members or at current place of employment and require special permission to do so
Must submit completed internship application to the Youth Internship Coordinator (Mr. Koehler)
