Head Varsity Coach- Jack Bushey
Coach Bushey grew up playing Sparta youth lacrosse. He also played Sparta High School lacrosse as a 4-year varsity midfielder/attackman. Coach Bushey continued his academic and athletic career at Kean University as a member of the Kean Men's Lacrosse Team where he was a two year starter and two year captain. Coach Bushey began his teaching career as a Physical Education Teacher at Sussex County Technical School before coming to Sparta High School in 2021. Coach Bushey is excited to be taking over as the head coach of this amazing program in the 2024 Season.
Assistant Varsity Coach- Lydia Myhren
We're delighted to introduce Coach Lydia Myhren, as Assistant Varsity Coach. As a dedicated Physical Education and Health teacher at Sparta High School and the Head JV Girls Soccer Coach, Coach Myhren brings a wealth of experience in nurturing young athletes. Her passion for sports and commitment to character development make her a valuable addition to our program. We're excited to have Coach Myhren on our team, and we look forward to her positive impact on our players' growth and success.
Junior Varsity Coach- Kat Palaia
We're thrilled to introduce Kat Palaia as our Head JV Coach. Coach Palaia played collegiate lacrosse at Kean University, where she earned a degree in Physical Education and Athletic Coaching. She is currently a physical education teacher at Sparta High School and coaches JV girls’ soccer. In addition to her work in school athletics, Coach Palaia coaches with True Lacrosse and has previous coaching experience with Building Blocks Lacrosse. She is dedicated to developing athletes’ skills and fostering a positive team culture both on and off the field.
Assistant Coach- Andrew Carbone
We're thrilled to introduce Coach Andrew Carbone, as an assistant coach. Coach Carbone brings a wealth of coaching knowledge to our program, serving as the Head football coach at Wood-Ridge High School. With a background in high school and college athletics, Coach Carbone's experience and expertise are invaluable. As a dedicated Physical Education and Health teacher at Wood-Ridge, Coach Carbone not only excels in the classroom but also in nurturing young athletes. His leadership skills, coupled with a deep passion for sports, make him an ideal addition to our team.
