The vision for STEM education in Spartanburg County School District 6 is to provide a challenging learning environment in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, which maximizes individual potential while also promoting collaboration and teamwork. D6 STEM fosters curiosity, ingenuity, and creativity by providing a variety of hands-on and challenging learning experiences. Lincoln Science Center and Planetarium
The Lincoln Science Center and Planetarium (LSCAP) provides lessons and activities to students related to astronomy, earth science, physics, and biology. The LSCAP also provides curriculum K-12 instructional activities and lessons to classes. Finally, the LSCAP hosts evening performances to the public for community engagement focusing on life-long learning.
Project Lead The Way provides transformative learning experiences for K-12 students. PLTW creates an engaging, hands-on classroom environment and empowers students to develop in-demand knowledge and skills they need to thrive. The pathways in engineering and biomedical science engage students in projects and problems empowering the them to solve real-world challenges. Global and local challenges surround us. To address these challenges and move forward, we need students who know problem-solving strategies, think critically and creatively, communicate and collaborate with others, and persevere when something does not work the first time.
