The Spartanburg County School District 6 Science Instructional Framework provides a comprehensive guide for science curriculum, instruction, professional learning, assessment, laboratory safety, and instructional leadership. This framework establishes consistent expectations and support systems to ensure high-quality science teaching and learning across all District 6 schools.
MISSION STATEMENT
In Spartanburg County School District Six, our science programs are committed to fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific literacy in every student. Through engaging, inquiry-based instruction and real-world applications, we empower learners to explore the natural world, ask meaningful questions, and develop problem-solving skills and solutions that prepare them for college, careers, and active citizenship in a global society. Our mission is to ensure access to high-quality science education, guided by highly qualified educators, strong community partnerships, and a commitment to continuous growth and innovation.
The District 6 Science Instructional Framework is a working idea designed to evolve as science education, state standards, instructional research, and district priorities change. Through collaboration, feedback, analysis of student achievement data, and reflection on instructional practices, this framework will be reviewed and refined to ensure it continues to meet the needs of teachers and students across Spartanburg County School District 6.
