As a core subject, English is a fundamental aspect of education. Knowledge and understanding of spellings, grammar and punctuation can be difficult to grasp with phonics being the basis for reading and writing. If these skills are not cemented well-enough, we don't have the foundation for building English skills later on.

With 1:1 support, a student can become not only competent but confident!

Maths underpins so many everyday activities. Despite key topics being repeated throughout schooling, often students struggle to get over the mental blocks and therefore lack confidence every time the topic is re-taught.

1:1 tutoring means key strengths and weaknesses can be identified quickly to get the most out of every session. A safe environment is created to support the student in feeling able to fail, so we can learn and then succeed. This way the student builds themselves up and gains confidence they never thought possible.

Science encompasses a multitude of topics and a wide range of skills. In particular, Key Stage 3 and GCSE Science requires a high level of knowledge and understanding, which is much easier to obtain with 1:1 teaching. 

The vast curriculum that has to be covered often leads to fast-paced teaching, which can result in misconceptions and confusion. Tutoring enables students to recap topics done at school, or even pre-learn to feel more confident in lessons!
