What is the SPA?

The SPA is a group of parents, guardians, and caregivers who work together with teachers and staff to support our school. We help strengthen the school community, organize events, and raise funds for programs that benefit our students.

Who can join the SPA?

Every parent or guardian with a child enrolled at the school is automatically a member! No dues or special sign-up are required—you’re already part of it.

How do I become a volunteer?

If you’d like to be more involved, we welcome volunteers of all kinds—whether you have an hour a month or a few hours a week. You can sign up for specific events, join a committee, or simply come to meetings. Email us @ SPA@SpanishWithSarah.com

How do I contact the SPA?

How do I get reimbursed for a SPA expense? 

Please submit reimbursement requests using this form. 

What fundraisers are planned this year?

Our largest fundraiser of the year is our Pumpkin Fun Run in October. We sprinkle other passive fundraising, engagement opportunities throughout the year. 

How do funds raised by the SPA get used?

All money raised goes directly back to the school. We use funds for things like classroom supplies, curriculum, teacher appreciation, and school improvements.

How can I contribute if I can’t attend events?

There are plenty of ways to help—from making a donation to sharing events with family and friends, or even volunteering behind the scenes. Learn how you can donate on our Ways To Give page. And volunteer here.

Are donations tax-deductible?

Donations currently are not tax-deductible, but every contribution still directly supports our students.

When and where are meetings held?

Meetings are usually held at the school. They are currently held on an as needed basis. 

Are meetings open to all parents?

Yes! All parents and guardians are welcome to attend. Your voice and ideas are important.

How can I add an item to the meeting agenda?

If you’d like something discussed, please email us @ SPA@SpanishWithSarah.com a few days before the meeting.

What events does the SPA host?

We organize fundraisers, family events, school celebrations, teacher appreciation days, and more! 

How can I help with school events or programs?

You can volunteer your time, donate supplies, or help with planning. Every little bit makes a big difference.

Can families suggest new events or programs?

Absolutely! We love fresh ideas. Please share your suggestions with us—we’re always open to new ways of building community. Email us @ SPA@SpanishWithSarah.com

How does the SPA support teachers and staff?

We host teacher appreciation events, and help fund supplies or activities that make learning more exciting and enriching for students.

Can the SPA help fund classroom projects?

Yes! Teachers can submit requests for special projects, and the SPA reviews them based on available funds.

How are decisions made about what the SPA supports?

We prioritize projects that directly benefit students, align with school goals, and enhance the learning environment.

How can I show teacher appreciation throughout the year? 

Check out this survey given to all teachers/staff on their favorite things. 

Does the Parent Association have a budget?

Yes. Each year we create a budget that outlines how funds will be raised and spent.

How are financial decisions made?

Financial decisions are based on the fiscal needs of the school as defined by the school and the SPA. 

Where can I see financial reports?

Reports are available upon request. And may require a specified turn around time.

How do I get reimbursed for a SPA expense?

Please use this reimbursement form to submit your request. 

How can local businesses support or sponsor the SPA?

Local businesses are welcome to sponsor events, donate goods/services, or partner with us. In return, we’ll recognize them in event materials and communications. Email us @ SPA@SpanishWithSarah.com

Can grandparents or extended family get involved?

Yes! We encourage extended family to attend events, volunteer, or donate. It’s a great way for loved ones to stay connected.
