This right here is a self driving train bus hybrid in Zhuzhou China, created by the ART company. Every carriage can carry about 100 people inside of it. It is able to run without a driver, but for the time being they have a driver in front just for safety reasons. This contraption is electric and can go 15 minutes on a 10 minute charge. It runs on regular roads like a bus, but only follows designated paths similar to a tram, pretty fast and pretty cool, eh?
What you are seeing right here is a face detection system created in China that is used to authorize payments, give access to facilities, and catch criminals. It detects and scans your face and then immediately places what it had scanned in a database. Face recognition software has greatly expanded, and in China, Face++ is taking it to the next level with their newest system, which will be also used for surveillance. The software is able to track 83 different points on somebody's face, pretty cool, but pretty creepy eh?
What you are seeing right here is the creation of a brilliant team of researchers at MIT. This is a robot that can teach other conscientious robots how to do specific tasks. At this point, most robots are very crude having to be programmed to do one small task. However this new innovation allows robots to learn from other robots and takes the laborious work of programming out of it. One way to teach a robot is by mimicry, however this robot is programmed by someone and through the program these students created called C-Learn the other robots learn from this mentor robot through mimicry, pretty cool eh?
