Artists from the Masining Organization conducted an exhibit for a cause entitled “HeART for Taal” in partnership with Museo ng Muntinlupa. A certain percentage of the proceeds of the sale was given to families in Batangas that were severely affected by the sudden eruption of Mt. Taal.

Muntinlupa Historian, Mr. Edsel Basilla traced the political, economic, and social development of Muntinlupa under the Spanish and American administrations in identifying the pueblo character of Muntinlupa, as well as the traits of an American town. The transformation in the locality was also highlighted to delineate the turning points of two foreign administrations.

Local Historian, Mr. Jomar Encila talked about the strategic location of Muntinlupa during the war and how it became a home for most of the revolutionaries back then. The webinar also addressed the narration of the experience of Muntinlupa and its people during the Philippine Revolution and Philippine-American War. Through corroboration of primary sources such as memoirs and Spanish and American reports; gallant people, events, battles in Muntinlupa during the Philippine fight for independence were discussed.

Gregoria De Jesus: Mga Tala ukol sa Himagsikang 1896 at Habilin sa Kabataan” narrated the important contributions of one of the bravest Katipunera. It also broke down her sufferings as the Lakambini of Katipunan during the Philippine Revolution. The primary source of this discussion was the memoir of Gregoria De Jesus entitled “Mga Tala ng Aking Buhay at mga Ulat ng Katipunan” where she personally wrote on November 05, 1928, and was published in the year 1932.

Museo ng Muntinlupa is a proud partner of Science Film Festival Philippines 2020 by the Goethe-Institut Philippinen as it continues its legacy of bringing science edutainment films nationwide. This year’s theme was the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The 17 SDGs are parts of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015. This SDG Series is supported by the City Planning and Development Office and the City Public Information Office.
