BIO

My name is Mrs. Barton, and I am the counselor for students with last names A-L at J.L. Matthey Middle school. This year will be the beginning of my 11th year in education. I was an English Language Arts teacher for 8 years, and I taught from grade levels 7th up to college. This is my 6th year at Matthey, and will be my 3rd year as a school counselor. I enjoy working with the students in the Southside community at the middle school level. It is always a joy to run into a former student at the high school or at a school function and talk with them regarding how they are doing and discussing their plans for the future. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, family, friends, and my two dogs, Meatball and Chanel. Traveling to different parts of the world and painting are interests on mine. I look forward to working with the students at J.L. Matthey Middle School.
