The Center - YSEP Program

YSEP is where middle schoolers (ages 10–14) show up, speak up, and level up.

We meet twice a week for real conversations, creative activities, and chances to build leadership skills, learn about different cultures, and figure out what matters most to you. Whether you’re finding your voice or just want a space to be heard, YSEP’s got your back.

This is your space to grow, connect, and build the kind of future you actually care about.

At the core of YSEP is something real: learning where you come from, why it matters, and how to be proud of it. Through hands-on activities that celebrate Black history, art, and impact, you’ll explore your roots and discover stories you won’t find in your school textbooks.

We’re talking:

🏀 Recreational activities to move your body, build teamwork, and have fun

✍️ Poetry and creative writing to tell your story, your way

🌟 Creative projects that spotlight changemakers and culture-shapers—past and present—that prove greatness runs deep in our DNA

You’ll gain a deeper connection to your heritage and a better understanding of other cultures. Because knowing who you are? That’s where confidence starts.

YSEP isn’t just a program—it’s a launchpad. In addition to exploring culture and identity, students grow as leaders, problem-solvers, and changemakers. Through hands-on STEM projects, team challenges, and community service, students learn how to think critically, lead with purpose, and work together to make a difference.

We also keep it real with sessions on emotional wellness, violence prevention, and healthy habits—because navigating life takes more than just good grades.
