Grading Policy

Different assignments will be weighted differently. In this class, students will learn and be evaluated on science concepts in a variety of ways and as such will be graded in a variety of ways.

In order to receive local and regents credit for this course you must have a final grade of at least a 65 including your final exam grade. At the end of the year the course grade is calculated by averaging all four marking period grades, the midterm and the final.

• Homework/Classwork - 20%

• Labs - 30%

• Quizzes - 20%

• Tests and Projects - 30%

Missed Exams or Assignments

If an assignment is late, up to a 15% penalty will be applied. Students may ask for an extension before the due date, which will be granted on a case-by-case basis.
