Chronology of Dragon Hockey
1996-1997 Inaugural season for the North Texas High School Hockey League
SCHA was 1 of the Original 4 teams in the North Texas HS Hockey League (the original name for the AT&T Metroplex High School Hockey League). The other 3 teams were Coppell, Jesuit, and Plano (not East or West, just Plano).
2001 State Champion
2001 Rocky Mountain District Finalist (lost to Monarch, Colorado)
2002 State Champion
2002 Rocky Mountain District Semi-finalist (lost to Colorado team)
2001-2003 70+ game Win-streak against Texas teams (does not include RMD losses to Colorado teams)
2008-2009 Dragon Hockey had 3 full teams (when the birth years were high 92, 93, 94) and even produced a U10 team (again, high birth years 99, 00). The JV Gold team played HS as well as U16 in the travel league NTXHL (North Texas Hockey League which would later become the DSTHL). The U10’s also played in the NTHXL. I believe the U16’s may have won the NTXHL Championship that year. The NTXHL only allowed the Dragons to play in the travel league for 1 season, quickly adding rules that were not in favor of small communities such as Southlake and Highland Park who were trying to build community travel-HS programs much like McKinney has today. The majority of that U16 JV Gold team went on to finish 2nd at HS Nationals 2 years later.
2010 USAH held the first HS Nationals for Pure teams only
2011 State Finalist (lost to Plano West) received bid to USAH Nationals
