Students use Lexia to reinforce reading skills for sight words, decoding, spelling, comprehension, fluency and vocabulary. Students can access this website from home as well. Contact Ms. Daigle if you need your student's username and password information for Lexia.
Students can be signed up for a Bookshare Account to access books with audio, enlarge text or other features that improve access for students with a learning disability in reading. Contact Ms. Daigle for more information.
Students use Scholastic News to work on non-fiction materials with embedded vocabulary, reading and picture supports. This is a great resource for instruction and reading reinforcement. The specific monthly issues cover a variety of topics and are provided through a website with interactive videos, assignments and games to connect with the texts. Students can also utilize a paper version. Students can utilize the digital or print versions of worksheets associated with the monthly issues.
Students use Epic Reading to access fiction and non-fiction materials with embedded vocabulary, reading and picture supports. Students can also access topic related videos and audiobooks. Students may both have teacher-assigned content within Epic as well as student-selected content as they browse independently.
