The Junior High cheerleaders cheered at 4 of the 5 games. They didn’t cheer at the first one because 5 out of the 7 girls were playing volleyball that day. Junior High cheer is coached by Ms. Ezzell. The cheer captains are Lexi Vanhoutan and Katelyn Schuman. There are 7 girls in Junior High cheer. Two of them are 8th graders and five of them are 7th graders. The 8th graders are Lexi Vanhoutan and Katelyn Schuman. The 7th graders are Chloe Debee, Katie Fansher, Camdyn Davison, Carlee Knapp, and Leah Howell. I asked Mrs. Ezzell what her favorite game they cheered at was and why, and she said, “ The first game they cheered at because it was fun to watch the cheerleaders cheer in front of a crowd although some were still confused about offense and defense”. I interviewed Chloe Debee and asked her what her favorite part of cheer is and she said, “Getting to bond with everyone and just having fun”. I also asked if she plans on cheering next year and she said “Yes”.

I got the chance to interview Dawson Fansher, who is in Cross Country. I asked, “How long have you done Cross Country?” to which he replied, “I have been doing this since 7th grade. I have earned quite a few medals. I have met around 10 people.” I was also able to interview Makayla Bohart. She has been running in Cross Country for 6 years. She has won 59 medals. The farthest she has ran is 2 miles. Her favorite meet to go to was in Mound City. She has met 15 people through Cross Country. She had to travel a lot for Cross Country. The most challenging meet for her was when she was recovering from Covid-19. She had to run 3 to 5 miles to be on the team. Go Knights!
