JAMIE LOGAN has been in the Southeast Polk Community School District since 2005, where she first served as Director of Vocal Music at SEP Junior High School before her arrival in the High School Music Department in 2012. Mrs. Logan conducts the Chamber Singers, Southeast Polk’s premier choral ensemble, as well as the Treble Clef Choir, and Southeast Polk’s varsity show choir, RAMification. She also enjoys serving as the executive producer for the vocal department's annual musical.
Under her direction, RAMification has been recognized for its excellence in performance and innovative programming with top honors at competitions throughout the state, while the musical, too, is consistently recognized for its excellence by the Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards.
Mrs. Logan was born and raised in Stuart, IA and graduated from West Central (Valley) before attending Simpson College. During her time at Simpson, Jamie served as the student conductor for the Simpson Chorale, Simpson Choir, and Mu Phi Epsilon, and was the chorus master for Offenbach’s The Tales of Hoffman, as well as Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Jamie spent the summer of 2001 working for the Des Moines Metropolitan Opera and was a private conducting student of artistic and musical director, Dr.Robert L. Larsen. After graduation, Mrs. Logan directed the 6-12 grade choirs at Nodaway Valley for three years before making the move to RAM country.
Jamie and her husband Bart are the proud parents of Micah and Josiah and their fur baby, Copper.
PATRICK CAREW joined the Southeast Polk Community School District in the Fall of 2025. Mr. Carew conducts the all treble Chorale, Bass Clef Choir, teaches private voice, co-directs the fall musical, and is the artistic director for the junior varsity level show choir, Vocal Gold.
Mr. Carew grew up in Garner, IA attending GHV High School before continuing his education at Luther College, graduating in 2024, earning a B.A. in Music Education with a minor in Musical Theatre. During his time at Luther, he participated in Norskkor as an officer, Nordic Choir as a section leader and student worker for conductor Dr. Andrew Last, several musical and opera productions, leader for student-led groups Undeclared A Cappella and SPIN Theatre Co., and served as the music department student representative.
After graduation, Mr. Carew coached 9th grade vocal jazz at Dallas Center-Grimes High School in Grimes, Iowa, taught 7-12 vocal music as a long-term substitute in Van Meter, Iowa, and teaches theater camp and workshops at the Des Moines Playhouse Community Theatre.
Allison Borts is a collaborative pianist and full-time accompanist at Southeast Polk High School. Mrs. Borts received her Piano Pedagogy degree from Drake University in Des Moines, IA and her masters from the University of Iowa.
