I'm going to start migrating the books from the "Summer Notes" link here but, for now, am starting a new list in the form of an "image carousal."
The work of Daniel Allen Hearn was and is being used extensively for additional crime details. ( e.g., Hearn, D. A. (2008). Legal Executions in New England: A Comprehensive Reference, 1623-1960s). To the best of my knowledge, and what could be described as an encyclopedic approach of men and women's executions, Hearn's format is one of the most accessible-- brief summaries and primary resources (generally in the form of media accounts).
