Summer Institutes & Workshops

NSF-supported Summer Institutes were held hybrid/in-person at the University of South Alabama in 2021 and 2022 at no cost to participants, known as  TBIL Fellows. These Fellows were trained to use the TBIL Resource Library to implement Team-Based Inquiry Learning in single-variable calculus or linear algebra. Fellows also received support throughout the academic year via our Slack conversation platform and Zoom meetings. Many of these faculty supported the research mission of the project by supporting the collection of student data measuring the implementation and efficacy of TBIL in their classrooms.

In 2023, we partnered with MAA OPEN Math to provide a virtual OPEN Math - Team-Based Inquiry Learning workshop to train a third cohort of TBIL Fellows on implementing TBIL and using our TBIL Resource Library for single-variable calculus and linear algebra.
