Joining Psi Chi

Psi Chi, founded in 1929, is the international honor society for psychology. It is one of the largest honor societies in the US, having more than 1,150 chapters and more than 800,000 lifetime members from chapters in the US, Canada, and multiple other countries.


The South Alabama chapter of Psi Chi was chartered in 1972.
Our
Chapter has been in service for 50 years and has inducted nearly 800 lifetime members.

Membership fees are a one-time fee of $55 (separate from the $10 Psychology Club Fee) and memberships are lifelong. In order to join Psi Chi, you must you must be in your 4th semester or later of college courses, completed at least 9 semester hours of Psychology coursework at USA (transfer credits do not count), have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 (including classes taken at USA and elsewhere), and follow the attendance policy of those in Psychology club: attending at least 5 of 8 meetings per semester.
