GC-CAMP is working with Discovery Hall Programs at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab and Mobile BayKeeper to integrate microplastics education into the SWAMP+ (Strategic Watershed Awareness and Monitoring) curriculum. Local area high school students participating in SWAMP+ have been visiting nearby waterways, sampling, and quantifying microplastic abundance monthly. They are also carrying out a number of action projects that address reducing the flow of microplastics into our local waterways.
