Dr. Kimberly G. Smith, Director of the ASLL 

Kimberly Smith is an ASHA certified Speech-Language Pathologist and an associate professor in the Speech Pathology and Audiology Department at the University of South Alabama. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders and Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Old Dominion University, and a Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of South Carolina. She teaches the undergraduate Introduction to Communication Disorders and Clinical Phonetics courses as well as the graduate-level Aphasia and Cognitive-Communication Disorders courses. Dr. Smith serves in the role of program coordinator of the Master of Speech-Language Pathology graduate program and enjoys mentoring both undergraduate and graduate students in research. She enjoys spending time with her family, working out, and cooking!  

Xiaobin Wang, Ph.D. Student

Xiaobin Wang is a Ph.D. student pursuing her doctorate of philosophy degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of South Alabama. She earned a Bachelor of Medicine in Nursing from Fujian University of Tradition Chinese Medicine and Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology and Healthcare Management System from Duquesne University. Xiaobin is currently performing research in the lab on aphasia.

Jordan Lins, MS, CCC-SLP, Ph.D. Student

Jordan Lins, M.S., CCC-SLP is a practicing speech-language pathologist and doctoral student in the Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology at the University of South Alabama. Her research interests include assessment and treatment for individuals with aphasia and concomitant alexia, with a specific focus on reading prosody and comprehension. Additional interests of hers includes person-centered interventions for aphasia, as well as assessment and treatment of apraxia of speech.
