Producer:
The producer is the person who will be assisting and creating the content that the Project Manager and Community Partner decide to create. In order to ensure quality standards, the producer is in charge of creating graphics, creating rundowns (this includes timing and segment placement), and writing scripts.
As a producer, you will work directly with the SO Connected lead team, Project Managers and Directors. You will also be communicating with SOTX Staff and Community Partners. You will be the final step making sure that all content (graphics, videos, scripts) are ready to go and meet the quality standards for SOTX events.
Producers will:
Be included in all meetings and planning of specific S.O. Connected events assigned to them.
Preparing all materials and making sure the project manager and community partners sign off on them.
Be the main contact person, communicating and making sure the correct graphics, videos and content are going out.
Other Expectations and Qualifications
Passion for Special Olympics Texas!
Education: High School Seniors or current college level student in good academic standing in a Texas accredited college or university is preferred.
Experience: Experience in working or volunteering with nonprofits or a related field and/or working with individuals with intellectual disabilities a plus. Experience with Special Events Coordinating is highly preferred.
Knowledge: G-Suite (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Draw, Google Slides, Google Meet, etc..)
Skills: Strong organizational ability to manage multiple projects and efficient time management skills. Must be proficient in the English language and have effective verbal and written communication skills as well as customer service skills.
Work Schedule: (8 weeks minimum) This position’s work schedule will be determined by the demands of the position and can include 15-20 hour work weeks, evenings and weekends, as well as some in-state travel. Flexible and long hours sometimes required however prior approval on overtime hours is necessary.
Physical Demands Include: Standing, walking, climbing ladders, squatting, lifting through full range (must be able to lift a min of 25 lbs), working in confined spaces, working in extremes of heat, cold and inclement weather as well as working at heights above 6'. Moderate to heavy physical demands, will be required to load and unload trucks, and to lift equipment and other merchandise.
Transportation: Must have own reliable transportation and fulfill assignments with reliability and punctuality, have a good driving history and must have a valid TEXAS driver's license.
