SPECIAL OLYMPICS TEXAS GOAL

Special Olympics Texas (SOTX) goal is to empower Texans with intellectual disabilities to be healthy, productive, and respected members of society through SOTX's year-round sports training, competitions and support programs.

S.O. CONNECTED EXPECTATIONS

Special Olympics Texas (SOTX) is looking for ambitious, outgoing and motivated individuals for our S.O. Connected Internship Program. SOTX wants individuals who are willing to learn new skills and connect with the community on a daily basis. In this internship program individuals will be working with technology on a daily basis and will need skills and a passion for creating live content. Applicants MUST have:

  • Communication skills (Interns will be communicating with the public on a daily basis)

  • Knowledge in Technology (Interns will be using technology on a daily basis)

  • The willingness to learn (Interns will be asked to learn and operate advanced software)

INTERNSHIP POSITIONS

Project Manager

A Project Manager is the direct liaison between community partners and the rest of the S.O. Connected team for all S.O. Connected events. In order to get events on the S.O. Calendar, staff must include a Project Manager in their meetings with community partners to be sure proper SO Connected protocol is followed.

Producer

The producer is the person who will be assisting and creating the content that the Project Manager and Community Partner decide to create. In order to ensure quality standards, the producer is in charge of creating graphics for the live streams, creating rundowns for live streams (this includes timing and segment placement), and writing scripts.

Social Media Content Creator

The Social Media Content Creator will be in charge of creating wording and graphics for all social media posts in regard to S.O. Connected. Familiarity with grammatical rules and basic rules for posting social media content is preferred.
