Situated between the Sava and the Danube rivers, Belgrade is one of the cities in Europe that has the most turbulent history. Proof of this is the Belgrade Fortress that has lived 2300 years of conflicts. Belgrade is home of the largest orthodox church of the Balkans: St Sava’s Church. Built in granite and marble, it has a beautiful architecture. If we want, we can also visit the “beach” in Belgrade. Ada Ciganlija was an island of the Sava turned into peninsula, that even though it is in the middle of the city, has conserved its nature. We found interesting the Nikola Tesla Museum, where we can learn a lot about this Serbian genius. In Belgrade there are a lot of places to visit, as the bohemian quarter, Skadarlija, as well as many of the National Serbian Museums. Next stop: Bucharest
