In this assignment, I was tasked with creating a simple 3D prined device that would solve an everyday problem, no matter the significancy. I first decided to make what I now know is a Suicide Knob for the disabled, but my teacher did not want me to make something illegal in his class so decided on another device that would incooperate a knob. I decided to make a mixer for my protein shake, using a hand crank.
The design process was fairly simple due to this being a simple project. Most of it was spent on modeling the device in Fusion 360, trying to make the mixer fit into the tight cap of my current protein shake. Although I had one failed print, this was a blessing in disguise. I was able to quickly make a few changes in the design that were for the better, such as grooves in some of the parts that needed to be super glued together. Utensils such and straws and spoons are latched onto the mixer at the bottom, held into place with two bolts (not 3D-printed).
