Tori grew up and lived in Austin, TX . She graduated from Texas Tech University in 2014 with degrees in Chemistry and Psychology. She is a proud Texas Longhorn and graduated with her Doctor of Pharmacy from University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy in 2018. She completed her community-based PGY-1 residency with UNC Eshelman College of Pharmacy at Sona where she learned to create diverse clinical services alongside business development within independent community pharmacy . She is board certified in ambulatory care and works at a clinical pharmacist practitioner with Sona Clinic partners.
She is a member of the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA), and North Carolina Association of Pharmacists (NCAP). On the weekends you'll find Tori hanging out with her daughter, hiking in the mountains with her husband, or exploring Asheville's food and music.
Julie is a WNC local and grew up in Candler, NC. She attended pharmacy school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis and Knoxville.
Upon graduation, Julie worked at Ingles from 2017 to 2023 before joining Sona. She is a part of our Clinical Pharmacist team and has worked in many parts of the pharmacy, including compounding and both retail locations. She is passionate about ensuring patients have access to the medications they need, whether that be helping them navigate costs or other barriers to care.
Outside of work, Julie is married, has twin girls, Maddie and Emmie, and two rescue Dobermans named Archie and Penny. She is very active in her church community and loves running, biking, Disney, and her family.
Ting is a clinical pharmacist with us at Sona. She grew up in Houston, Texas, and earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Houston in 2011. After graduation, she relocated to North Carolina and began working in a community pharmacy setting, where she held a variety of roles and gained extensive experience in patient care, medication management, and pharmacy operations.
Seeking a new direction and a greater opportunity to impact patient outcomes, she transitioned into a clinical pharmacist role and currently practices at Pardee BlueMD clinic and at Sona. In this capacity, she works closely with patients and healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy and improve overall health outcomes. Ting is passionate about serving the community and values the meaningful connections built through patient-centered care.
Outside of work, she enjoys exploring Asheville, running, and spending quality time with her family.
Taylor attended pharmacy school at the East Tennessee State University Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy, where she graduated with her Doctor of Pharmacy and Master of Public Health degrees in 2023. Taylor has professional experience in both community and inpatient pharmacy settings, as well as mental health crisis services. In her current role, she serves as the lead pharmacist for the Sona Access Program, a high-touch medication management program offered through Sona Pharmacy that seeks to support patients with complex care needs through monthly medication adherence packaging. Her interests include mitigating the impact of social determinants of health on patient outcomes, improving health literacy, and increasing healthcare access by expanding services at the community pharmacy level. True to the Asheville spirit, outside of the pharmacy, she enjoys wandering through the River Arts District, exploring local wineries and breweries, and spending time with her husband, Tanner, and cat, Lilly.
Franklin is a pharmacist and director-level compounding leader specializing in regulatory strategy and personalized pharmacotherapy implementation.
Franklin received a Bachelor of Science from Western Carolina University and a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy. He advances patient outcomes through precision, creativity, and evidence-based medicine, applying its principles to individual needs when conventional care is not enough.
He understands that health is both measurable and mysterious, written in bloodwork and behavior, in lab values and lived experience. Franklin's work blends the rigor of pharmacology with the curiosity of the human experience, building systems that translate science into individualized care.
Claire is a pharmacist and the Director of Sona Specialty Pharmacy. She graduated with her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2019 from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center. While her professional roots began at an independent compounding pharmacy, her diverse background also includes experience at Enclara, a hospice mail-order pharmacy, and CVS.
Claire joined the Sona team in February 2023 as a retail staff pharmacist before transitioning into her current role as Director and Pharmacy Manager of Sona Specialty in November 2023. This role has allowed her to fulfill a career-long goal of marrying the clinical and community sides of pharmacy to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.
Outside of work, Claire stays busy with her two daughters, Olivia and Marcie, and their two dogs, Finn and Honeybear. In her free time, she enjoys curling up with a good book, finding the perfect cup of coffee, visiting local farmers' markets, and exploring Asheville with her family.
Natasha (Tasha) Michaels, PharmD, BCACP is the VP of Clinical Operations and supports all lines of business at Sona. Michaels received her bachelor of science in chemistry and biology and minor in mathematics from Meredith College in Raleigh, NC (2003). She received her doctorate of pharmacy from the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy (2007). Michaels completed her PGY1 community pharmacy residency at Kerr Drug in Raleigh and UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy (2008). Her research on North Carolina’s Medicaid Medication Therapy Management Program was published in the May/June 2010 issue of Journal of the American Pharmacists Association. Michaels’ primary focus has been to provide clinical services to patients in the community setting including incorporation of these services into pharmacy workflow. These services consist of medication therapy management services, immunizations, point-of-care testing, and disease state management, including diabetes education. Michaels is passionate about vaccinations and expanding the role of community pharmacists.
