Delia Bolden Elementary/Marshall Elementary History
Prior to 1982, both Marshall and Delia Bolden operated as K–5 elementary schools. In the early 1980s, the two schools were paired together as partner schools: Marshall Elementary served students in grades K–2, while Delia Bolden Elementary served students in grades 3–5. The pairing was designed to promote a more equitable racial balance of students across the district.
As part of the District’s Intentional Integration initiative, beginning in 2023, the process of unpairing Marshall and Delia Bolden Elementary Schools began. Over the course of three years, the District transitioned both schools back to a K–5 model, moving away from the previous K–2 and 3–5 structure.
