Every Monday from 10:00 to 11:30 am, MJHS Sunshine Closet volunteers distribute food to MJHS families in need, as well as to those in the surrounding community. This drive is made possible through our partnership with the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Please note that supplies may run out before 11:30 am. We typically serve 180 to 200 families, and sometimes more.

There will not be distribution on Mondays that the school is closed (see below for school breaks).

For the safety and convenience of our school community, the waiting line for the food drive may begin at 9:30 am along Glenwood Ave, but not earlier. Please look for the signs to guide you. Please, do not get out of your car, volunteers are there to load your car with the items.

Walk-ups (people without a car) are welcome but are asked to wait until 10:30 am to join the line at the entrance to the school. We appreciate everyone's understanding and cooperation!

The food selection provided each week comes from the Atlanta Community Food Bank and varies based on availability. It often includes fresh produce, a combination of pantry staples and snacks, and sometimes protein (meat). Please note that some items are in limited quantities and may run out earlier than others.

There are no qualifications required to receive assistance. To sign up, simply provide your name, the total number of family members in your household, and specify how many are children (17 and under), 18-year-olds, and seniors (over 60 years of age).
