Our Vision

At Somerset Oaks Academy we are committed to providing a safe environment where future leaders are inspired to learn, explore and create through student centered learning, while developing the whole child. 

Our Mission

We will devote our time to creating future leaders, building relationships, achieving academic growth, creating strength through experience, nurturing them, and striving in our community in education. 

Our Core Values

As we continue on our path to improvement, we will continue to plan and sustain the core tenants of our STEM program year after year.  This comprehensive approach to STEM education at Somerset Oaks Academy represents the core tenets of an effective, sustainable, and age-appropriate STEM curriculum.

Kindergarten

Goal: To foster curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in young learners by engaging them in hands-on, age-appropriate STEM experiences that promote inquiry, exploration, and early understanding of the natural and physical world.

First Grade

Goal: To cultivate an environment where first graders actively engage in STEM learning through hands-on, inquiry-based activities that encourage exploration, basic analytical thinking, and collaborative problem-solving.


Second Grade

Goal: To deepen second graders’ understanding of STEM concepts by engaging them in collaborative, hands-on projects that develop critical thinking, experimentation, and practical problem-solving skills within real-world contexts.

Third Grade

Goal: To empower third graders to apply STEM concepts through independent and group projects that emphasize critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving, fostering an understanding of how STEM connects to their world.

Fourth Grade

Goal: To enhance fourth graders' ability to analyze and solve complex problems through interdisciplinary STEM projects that foster innovation, collaboration, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Fifth Grade

Goal: To empower fifth graders to utilize their interdisciplinary STEM knowledge and skills to tackle real-world problems, fostering innovation, leadership, and a commitment to collaborative learning.

Middle School

Goal: To equip middle school students with the skills and knowledge to explore and solve real-world problems through interdisciplinary STEM learning, fostering innovation, critical thinking, and collaboration.
