  • Optimization of PV panel installation can be done with a group of neighboring homeowners - without compromising on the energy consumption pattern.

  • Recommended installation size 10-15kW - Energy generation expected: 1000-1500 units per month (₹12-20k per month energy cost by standard utility rates)

  • Clear-to-sky area requirement: 600-900

  • Other energy requirements (gas for cooking and fuel for vehicles) can be substituted with available energy)

  • Replace conventional solar thermal (in case of space constraints) with high-efficiency heat pump water heaters.

  • Clear-to-sky area requirement: 300-600 - an application can be made to home owner's association for permission to use available rooftop space for solar panels. Permission can be denied only if the same area being considered is to be used for the solar project for the common consumption of the entire building.
