Late October/Early November: Registration Opens
Late November: - Registration Fee Due
Teams will have to pay a $30 registration fee to pay for the cost of medals. If a school would like to have an additional team competing, they will have to pay two registration fees (for a total of $60). The fee does not have to be paid until you are confirmed to be competing. The registration fee will be due (Tentatively) by November 23rd, so that we have sufficient time to order medals. Fees can be paid through check (although it may take time to ship) or through PayPal. Most fee handling will happen through the "Head Coach's" dashboard on our Scilympiad page.
In addition to the online registration, teams that are participating must also fill out additional forms, through our scilympiad website.
If a teams cancels their registration prior them sending their payment in, they will not have to send in their payment. If the team cancels after their fee had been sent in, but prior to the fee due date, and a replacement team is found, their fee may be refunded. If a team cancels after the fee due date, they will not be refunded, even if another team can be found to take their spot.
We will attempt to avoid a tournament cancellation as best we can. Weather should not be an issue as the entire competition will be run online, with students participating from school (or at home, if necessary). In the event of a pandemic, online tournaments should still be able to be run. However, if a tournament cancellation is inevitable for any reason, we will do our best to refund as much of the initial registration fee as possible. However, we cannot guarantee a full refund, especially late into the competition after materials and medals have been ordered.
We will find all supervisors and volunteers for all 23 events so that teams can focus all efforts entirely on competing. Most volunteers will likely be students and faculty from Socorro High School and New Mexico Tech as well as Science Olympiad Alumni looking to continue their Science Olympiad career.
All teams that have registered for Science Olympiad through their state director will be eligible to compete. We will be confirming with the state director of your respective state that you are registered, so please be sure that you did so. Teams that are not registered through their state director will be dropped, and a team on the waiting list will fill their place.
Registration for Science Olympiad for New Mexico teams can be found on the NM Science Olympiad website. Once this is completed and sent in, you are eligible for this invitational. Registration for other states will be through the state director of your state.
Teams can register for this competition through our scilympiad page.
