While PBIS allows us to take a more positive, proactive approach to discipline and encourages us to teach clear expectations in all areas that they travel throughout their school day, SEL focuses on WHY students are unable to meet those expectations and urges us to teach those skills that students lack. When the two are combined, the possibilies are endless! We are able to teach our students the skills that they need to monitor and regulate their own emotions as well as how to build and maintain positive relationships, which in turn will allow them to reach their full potential.
