Each teacher sets up their own due dates and late work policies, so here is mine...
REGULAR DUE DATES
all assignments for that week are due by that Friday at 11:59pm... (turning in an assignment at 12:00 on saturday is late...)
you can turn them in earlier (i hope you do!), but they are not late until 12:00am saturday morning...
that means, you need to turn them in before 12:00 saturday..
if they are turned in 12:00 or later, they are late (yes... I said this twice...its important)
LATE WORK
I know life happens, so if something is turned in late, here's what happens
I mark "M" in Infinite Campus...that equates the grade to a zero...
once you submit it, I remove the zero and add "late" as a comment to the assignment in infinite campus
you have until the end of that unit to turn in that assignment
the highest grade you will receive on that assignment is 60%
if you turn it in at 12:34am on a saturday, it's just as late as if you turn it in 3 weeks later before the unit test
turning it in doesn't mean you automatically get a 60%...that is just the highest you can get...
but, waiting till the end of the unit means you might forget to turn it in at all...I suggest turning it in as soon as you can so you can 'get it off of your plate'
OUR MODIFIED BLOCK SCHEDULE IS 'WONKY'
I see you 2-3 times a week (depending on what week it is)...this means you will have more time to complete Monday / Tuesdays assignments...
this also means you won't have as long to complete your Wednesday /Thursday assignments (just the way the world works...)
you will need to figure out the best way for YOU to get all your assignments turned in by friday at 11:59pm
having an assignment on wednesday or thursday does not mean you get extra time... it just means you need to manage your time to get it done...
YOU HAVE A LOT OF CLASS TIME
I try to structure our class so that you have a lot of time in class to work on assignments... I don't want you going home and having to do my work...
some days are very 'note heavy' where i have to do a lot of explaining and modeling, and some days you will have the majority of the class to work...it all depends on what we are working on
if you need more time other than what I give you in class, you need to schedule that time into your week
remember...you have until friday at 11:59 to turn in work,
