Print out a copy of each activity.
Choose to work on either the Suggested Activity or the Alternate Activity.
Discuss your selected activity questions with your mentor.
If you need additional resources for the suggested activity, look on the mentor website.
When you have completed the selected activities for the month, both you and your mentor need to sign and date the paper copies and then have your mentor scan and doc send a copy of the completed and signed activities to Tara Brimhall in the Federal Programs office.

Have students Practice using the computers that they will be using for testing.
Have students run through practice tests.
Become familiar with navigating through the test.
Become familiar with the features of the testing platform.
Become familiar with question types.
Read the test administration directions before testing day.
Arrive to school early on testing day .
Make sure carts and computers are plugged in and charging.
Set up computers and have them opened to the login screen of the testing platform before students arrive into the classroom.
Make sure volume is turned up before launching the testing platform (once the platform is open you cannot adjust volume setting on the computer itself).
Check how much battery life is available on each computer, make sure that there is enough to complete the tests.
Double check the demographic info on a students test ticket, make sure that info such as grade level is correct.
Tell students to inform you immediately of any warning or error messages that come up (e.g. low battery).
Make sure you have your Testing in Session sign posted.
Make sure that you have ALL visual aids in the testing room covered.
How do I open the secure browser on a chromebook
Turn on the Chromebook but do not sign in. On the bottom left of the screen select the "apps" button. For AZM2 select Secure Test Browser/AIR Secure. For AZSci or AZELLA, select Testnav
What do I do if the sound does not work on a students computer?
Pause the students test, exit the testing platform and check the volume on the computer. Usually when this happens it is because the volume on the computer itself has been turned down or muted and cannot be adjusted once the secure browser has been launched. Once fixed the student will need to log back into the secure browser and the teacher will need to resume the student's test.
What do I do if I cannot log into a Windows machine?
ALL students should now be testing on CHROMEBOOKS!
What do I do if a Chromebook does not connect to the network?
Turn the computer off, let it sit for a minuet and try again DO NOT try to log in to lobos den or change the password to connect to the network.
What do I do if a Chromebook has an “unsupported o/s” error when trying to log into AIR Secure or TestNav?
Get the student another machine to get started and then try rebooting the machine. If the same error appears then contact I.T.
What do I do when a student cannot scroll down to view the entire question?
Hover over the side of the question with the mouse and a scroll bar will become visible. Students can also sometimes use the up down arrow keys to move the screen up and down.
What do I do if a students question does not load immediately?
Have the student put their hands in their lap and do not touch the computer until it loads. It is very important that the student waits for the page to load completely before attempting to answer. For example, In TestNav for AZELLA and AZSci if a student tries to play audio before the question has loaded the student may not be able to play the audio at all.
What do you do if a student cannot log into Testnav and is given the error message: Software update required.
Hold down the power button on the chrome book and select power off. Once the computer has shut down, press the power button again. After the computer has restarted you can once again open Testnav and the student will be able to log in. If there is still an issue get the student another machine and contact I.T.
