💡 Student Learning Funds Overview (2025–2026)

🎯 Purpose:  Student learning funds are designed to support each student’s educational needs, including:

• Technology & internet access

• Learning tools & core supplies

• Elective materials (see eligibility list below)
  
  

All expenses must directly support the student’s current SROHS courses.

📝 How It Works

1. Submit a Funds Use Request
   This must be completed before making any purchases.

2. Request Review by SROHS Team
   The team will:

   • ✅ Confirm the request is eligible

   • 🔄 Decide whether SROHS will purchase the item or if it qualifies for reimbursement

3. Eligibility Requirements

   • All requests must be connected to a current SROHS course or credit.

   • If requesting funds for an activity, the student must be enrolled in a related course to receive credit.

   • In general, funding is limited to $225 per course per school year.

   • Students are allowed 2 computer purchases in 4 years. No more than $500 each.
     
     

✅ If Approved…

Option 1: Approved for Student/Family Purchase and Reimbursement

• 1. You’ll receive an email with a link to the Reimbursement Request Form.

  2. You must upload your receipt using the form.

 ❌ Receipts sent via email will not be accepted.
Centralized tracking is required for accountability.

• 3. Reimbursements typically take 3–4 weeks to process.
     
     

Option 2: Approved for SROHS to Purchase

• The SROHS team will order the item (usually through Amazon).

• You’ll receive an email confirming the approval and, if applicable, another email once the item is ordered.

• Shipping and processing may take 3–4 weeks.
  
  

📅 Key Dates

• 🛠️ March 24, 2026- Last day to earn new funds

• 📬 April 14, 2026- Final date to submit request forms (Grades 7–11)

• 🎓 May 4, 2026- Final date to submit request forms (Seniors)

🔄 Roll-Over Policy for 2026–2027

• Students preregistered for the 2026–2027 Washington D.C. Trip may roll over up to $1,100

• All other students may roll over up to $400

🏫 SROHS: Eligible Products & Services (2024-2025)

1. Technology & Internet Access

Approved:

• Laptops, Desktops, Tablets (no more that $400) and only two times for a four-year student, Headphones

• Internet Access (monthly fees, modems, routers, mobile hotspots, wi-fi extenders) up to 50% of a bill not to exceed  $50 a month (some locations may be approved for more based on locations).

• Fitbit or equivalent (smart watch)

Not Approved:

• TVs, Smartwatches, Smartphones / Phones, Speakers

• Video Game Consoles, Streaming & Karaoke Equipment or Computer Components

2. Curriculum & Instructional Materials

Approved:

• Textbooks, K–12 Curriculum, Books, Workbooks, Dictionaries

• Educational Software, Applications, Software Subscriptions

Not Approved:

• Pornography, Adult or Unsafe Content

• In-Game Purchases / Credits

3. Testing Fees

Approved:

• SAT, ACT, AP, IB

• Industry Certification Exams

Not Approved:

• Tests paid through public schools for publicly enrolled students

4. Therapies & Related Services

Approved:

• Speech, Occupational, Physical, Behavioral, Audiology, Vision, Dental Therapies
  
  

Not Approved:

• Services provided by interns

5. Traditional Public School Programs for Online Students

Approved:

• School Athletic Fees,  Driver’s Ed Fees

• Curriculum Fees (e.g. Art, CTE), Graduation Fees

• AP/SAT/ACT fees when not paid through a public school

• School Supplies (if purchased in marketplace)
  
  

Not Approved:

• Spirit Packs / School Apparel, Any purchases through public schools

• Yearbooks, Transportation, or Food

6. Education Camps & Enrichment Classes

Approved:

• Camp/Class Tuition, Curriculum, Tech & Materials

• Day Camp Registration (under 12 weeks, background check verified)

• State-licensed Therapeutic Outdoor Programs

• ACA-accredited Out-of-State Camps

• Homeschool Co-op Tuition
  
  

Not Approved:

• Virtual/Private School Tuition

• Religious Camps

• Annual/Giving/Fundraising/Donation Fees

• Gift Cards

• Transportation

7. Educational Equipment (Non-tech)

Approved:

• Sensory Items, STEM Kits, Art Supplies

• Calculators, Flashcards, Planners

• Microscopes, Telescopes, Manipulatives

• Sewing Machines, Lunchboxes

• CTE Tools (up to $225), Puzzles, Educational Board Games

• Storage/Organization Supplies

• Backpacks, Computer Cases, Timers

• Toys, Kitchen/Household Appliances

• Furniture, Gaming Chairs

• Cricut/Silhouette Tools

• Stuffed Animals, Liquid Floor Tiles

• Rugs, Swings, Weighted Blankets

• Gift Cards

• Items promoting violence/criminal behavior

8. Physical Education & Gear

Approved:

• Weights, Benches (up to $225 per class)

• Balls, Goals, Rackets

• Swim Gear, Yoga Mats

• Bicycle

• Ski passes  (up to $225 per class)

Not Approved:

• Sports Gear & Competition Fees

• Motorized/Recreational Equipment (e.g. Treadmills, Boats, Golf Carts)

• Playsets, Trampolines, Bouncy Houses, Camping Equipment
  
  

9. Musical Instruments & Tutoring

Approved:

• Instrument Purchase/Rental

• In-person & Online Tutoring

Not Approved:

• Instrument Repairs, Maintenance, Tuning

• Insurance/Service Agreements

10. Costumes & Uniforms for Educational Activities

Approved:

• Required uniforms for CTE Courses

Not Approved:

• School Uniforms, Dress-up/Imaginary Play Clothes

• Leotards, Dance Shoes, Karate Uniforms & Belts

• Camp/Class/Event T-Shirts

• Sports, Dance, Theatrical Uniforms & Costumes
