Student Learning Funds Requests will not open until September 7th.
Student Learning Funds help remove barriers by giving SROS students access to approved educational tools, materials, services, and learning opportunities connected to their current coursework.
Student Learning Funds are earned throughout the school year as students make progress in In Progress and Mastered coursework.
Funds are released in stages based on:
The student’s start date
The number of credits they are taking
Completion of Foundations or Returning Student “Welcome Back” activities
Progress in In Progress and Mastered coursework
Available funds after program fee deductions
Students who start later in the school year receive a prorated allocation based on their enrollment period and planned credits.
Eligible expenses may include:
Technology and digital learning tools
Curriculum and instructional resources
Approved assessments, tutoring, and student support services
Allowable expenses connected to SROS-sponsored educational experiences
Educational supplies and equipment
Other approved expenses directly connected to coursework or an educational plan
All requests are reviewed individually and must meet Idaho law, State Board rules, and SROS procedures.
SROS purchases approved items and pays approved expenses directly.
Families should not purchase items or pay fees expecting reimbursement unless specifically authorized by SROS.
Internet access is the only expense eligible for family reimbursement. Approved reimbursement may cover up to 50% of the monthly internet bill, not to exceed $100 per month.
Program fees are assessed each trimester and deducted from the student’s available Student Learning Fund balance.
Grades 6–11: $25 per trimester
Grade 12: $50 per trimester
These fees support face-to-face learning, adventure experiences, graduation activities, facility rentals, and other student programming.
Student Learning Fund requests:
Must directly support current SROS coursework, graduation requirements, or an approved educational plan
Cannot exceed the student’s available balance
Must be approved before SROS makes a purchase or payment
May be denied if the request is personal, recreational, household-based, unsafe, or not clearly educational
Examples include:
Gift cards
Food and transportation
Entertainment electronics
Smartphones and smartwatches
Private school or private virtual school tuition
Religious camps
Spirit wear and yearbooks
Household furniture and appliances
Items not connected to current SROS coursework
