SROHS Middle School serves as a crucial transitional phase for students, a vital bridge between the structured environment of elementary school and the autonomy-driven landscape of SROHS. Recognizing the shift from a direct-instruction approach to education in elementary school to the freedom of choice in high school, the middle school courses are carefully designed to provide a scaffolded structure. It aims to empower students gradually, introducing them to the concept of choice while maintaining a level of guidance and support. 

The courses at SROHS Middle School strike a balance between structure and independence, exposing students to diverse subjects and fostering essential academic and organizational skills. Through hands-on projects and collaborative activities, students develop critical thinking, time management, and effective communication skills. Additionally, a focus on mentorship and counseling assists students in understanding their interests and strengths, ensuring they are well-prepared for success in the flexible environment of SROHS High School and beyond.
