Course Description
This is a one credit world language course. This course focuses heavily on vocabulary, grammar, and Spanish-speaking countries. The proficiency expectations for Spanish 2 CP are novice mid to novice high. Students will be able to have conversations and write about daily events and situations using different time frames. Students' listening skills continue to grow by helping them understand sentence-length speeches in basic personal and social contexts. Students at this level will also be able to understand basic information, personal topics, and social topics when reading text in the target language (“Delaware Recommended Framework for Designing Standards-Based and Proficiency-Focused World Language Curriculum,” 2017). Course Objectives
Students will be able to recall previously learned content, grammar tenses, and vocabulary in the target language from the course and previous Spanish courses that will allow students to connect topics.
Students will be able to make simple statements in conversations and ask some simple questions.
Students will be able to describe everyday tasks and social situations using different time frames.
Students will be able to demonstrate the acquired skills in listening, reading, speaking, and writing in the target language through readings, audios, conversations, and problem-based learning on a variety of topics.
Students will be able to connect their culture to cultures from Spanish-speaking countries.
Students will be able to implement gained knowledge from the course into other courses and their everyday life.

Students are responsible for their actions and learning.
Students are to participate and complete given tasks.

Grading Policy
The grading scale for Smyrna High School is the Letter Grading Scale (A, B, C, D, and F). Grading is broken down into three categories: Preparation for Learning, Practices of Learning, and Products of Learning.
