Please read over the important information below and share with your student and others that may be picking your student up after camp. If you have any questions, please reach out directly to the instructor, or contact our program coordinator, Whitney McCoy, at carrilloprograms@gmail.com.
PTO Enrichment Program Policies
No refunds once classes have started. Please contact your instructor if you believe there are extenuating or emergency circumstances.
No refunds for missed classes if your student is absent.
We reserve the right to refuse participation in after school enrichment classes based on previous behavior issues.
All students (1st-5th) are responsible for getting to class themselves. Please instruct your student to check in with the front office if there is any confusion about class dates or locations.
Students are not permitted to walk home alone after any enrichment class. Students must be picked up by a parent or carpool at Carrillo in the front loop. The back gate will be closed at the pickup time.
Children in KOC are required to check in at KOC before going to their class. Parents must complete a new KOC release form for each session. Students will then be walked back to KOC by their instructor after the enrichment class has ended for the day.
If students are picked up late, a late pickup fee will be enforced:
1st and 2nd incident – If your student is picked up 15 or more minutes late, a $20 late pickup fee will be imposed. This fee must be paid before attending class the following week.
3nd incident – Same as above, and possible removal from the enrichment class with no refund at the instructor's discretion. *Student(s) may not be able to register in future after school programs if there are more than 2 late pickup incidents.
Discipline Policy:
Students are expected to follow Carrillo's behavior expectations during their after school enrichment classes. If behavior becomes an issue, the following discipline structure will apply:
1st Incident/Disruption in class: the student will be given a verbal warning by the instructor. The student may also be asked to pause the activity for a cool-down time until they are calm enough to rejoin.
2nd Incident/Disruption in class: the parent may be called to pick the child up early from class.
3rd Incident/Disruption in class: at the instructor's discretion, the child may be removed from the class without a refund. They may also lose the opportunity to enroll in future classes.
Instructors will exercise the discipline policy with restorative practices in mind, and with the goal of guiding the child to be successful in the class environment. Major behavioral incidents that pose a safety issue may result in removal from the program at the instructor's discretion.
Please be advised that the health office is closed during the after school enrichment programs. In the event of an illness or injury, the adult contact numbers will be used. The instructor may also call 911 in the event of an emergency. By enrolling your child in the enrichment program, you are authorizing emergency medical treatment for your child if necessary.
