Pre-University Honours Program: International Relations
The speed and scope with which international developments unfold is unprecedented. In order to make sense of the increased complexity of world politics, we need historical as well as theoretical perspectives. How can we understand contemporary international relations? How is globalization changing the practice of international politics? Is the world becoming less or more peaceful, and how can we understand and promote international cooperation to achieve common goals? This on-campus summer program will bring together high school students from across the world to study an important topic at the university level.
Pre-University Honours Program: Politics & Identity
As our hyper-connected world draws closer together, it falls to present and future generations to understand how this affects the political climate. Every aspect of our lives is intertwined with political decisions, as is our identity. But how can something as fluid and changeable as identity be the basis for political debate? What implications does our own identity have on our political beliefs, and how does our identity have an impact on and change the interpretations of others, and to what extend do they change our political establishments and conversations? This summer program will bring together high school students from across the world to study an important topic at the university level.
Pre-University Honours Program: Sustainable Thinking
Working towards a sustainable society means learning to live in harmony with our natural environment whilst consciously making changes which allow future generations to flourish. Young people today have grown up in a world where sustainability is one of the most pressing issues. But aside from its definition, what does it really mean, and how do we implement best practices in order to ensure a livable future for ourselves and the generations that will follow? This summer program will bring together high school students from across the world to study an important topic at the university level.
