Hi everyone, my name is Giacomo Roberti. I was born in Domodossola in 1894 and I played an important role in the Resistance against Fascism in the Ossola region. I joined the Italian Communist Party when it was founded, and from a young age, I strongly opposed the fascist regime. I became a key figure in the anti-fascist movement in my city and worked closely with Ettore Tibaldi to organize the first partisan groups in Ossola. We would secretly meet in the tower of the San Biagio hospital, where Tibaldi worked, to share information and plan our resistance efforts. In September 1944, during the Partisan Republic of Ossola, I served as Commissioner for Police and Personnel in the Provisional Government. After World War II, I returned to my business in Domodossola and continued serving as a city councillor for many years. I passed away in 1972, and my death was deeply felt by the entire community of Domodossola. My legacy is tied to both the history of the Resistance in Ossola and the commercial life of my city. I gave everything for freedom, and my work stands as a reminder of that commitment.
