SMSD Elementary Library Resource Page

Hello! The elementary librarians of the Shawnee Mission School District have collaborated to bring you this on-line resource. While we know that this web page cannot replace classroom instruction, our hope is to provide our families and students with a menu of activities and resources that will supplement and enrich the activities that your classroom teacher has provided. This resource is evolving as we add new and on-line activities for our students, so please check back often.

At the top of the screen you will see links for: primary and intermediate grades, resources available through SMSD, story read-aloud options, internet safety, virtual field trips, free resources you normally have to pay for, and technology free ideas. Each grade level section will provide you with many lessons that your student can complete at home. These are designed to give students choices to work on throughout the rest of the school year. The goal is to have students choose one per week to work on.
