Web Help Desk (WHD) requests
You will receive an automated email response from the WebHelpDesk. This will include your work order number. Please check your email (school gmail account) as the Help Desk may have questions or may need to check to see if your work order request has been addressed.
Our analysts are working remotely so WHD tickets are important. Can't fix the problem unless we know about the problem.
Be as detailed as possible. Screenshots are especially helpful and can be added to the help request. You know better than anyone else about the issue you are having.

LightSpeed Issues
LightSpeed is the content filtering system.
If you are having issues with connection you may need to run the reinstall.

Install will take 5-10 minutes and computer will restart
Log in as usual after restart
The Basics
Power the device down. Hold the power button on the keyboard for about 5-8 seconds until the Apple goes dark on the top cover. Restart is another option
Close some or all of your tabs. Your computer will be working very hard in the background with all those tabs open. Besides, your brain can only handle about 9 tabs.
Log out and log back in on the device or the program(s) you are using.
Quit applications that have those dots under them in your dock when you are finished. Finder will always have a dot.
Need help deleting that program you used once, please contact Mrs. Reynolds.
Passwords
All password reset requests( SMSD and Google) must be done through the building (Mrs. Reynolds) or by calling the Help Desk @ 913.993.8880
Passwords are required to be of the following complexity
8 characters minimum, number(s )may not be in the final position
3 out of the 4 must be: Capital letter, Lower Case letter, Number and/or Special symbol
Updating
It is always a good idea to update the operating system. Monterey is the current Mac Operating System(OS) that is being used. If there is an update regarding the current OS you may update. If a new OS is released the district will inform all users as to when they may update to the new OS.
ICT will push out a reminder that students will need to initiate the update.
Updating can take awhile, please do an update in the evening after finishing school work.
Please leave the lid of the device open and plugged in until installation is complete.
Case Issues
Cases should be on your device always.
Need help putting your case back on, watch the video to the left.
Please put in a Web Help Desk request if you are unable to replace it. See the video above for the WHD.

Go to skyward.smsd.org

Reset your password by clicking on Forgot your Login/Password? link
Enter your school email and submit
Open your school email
A do.not.reply email will appear in your mailbox
Open the email and click on the link to reset
Follow the password reset rules, submit, then log in when it is approved.
Your login will be your student number and the new password you have set.
Damaged Device or Accessories
Report any damage to a device, case, cord or adapter to a teacher immediately.
A WHD ticket will need to be initiated. Administrators and ICT will work together to determine if a fine should be assessed.
Students will be issued a working replacement device.
Chrome Not Working?
Google could be Paused--check next to your avatar, sign in again with password.
Try Safari and see if it works.
You may have loaded extensions into your browser. Those items that are not needed for school such as games (Flappy Golf) or personalization items (Custom Cursor, Momentum) should be removed. Click on the video to the left to see how to remove those items
Try to reninstall Chrome from Manager
Internet Connection
Most likely the date and time setting is not correct, perhaps your device has not been charged for a while.
Follow the steps in the video to the left.
A restart is necessary.

Classlink
If Classlink has disappeared follow these steps to reinstall the shortcut to your dock.
