How can my student try an instrument?
If you were unable to make the fair, you are welcome to contact your local music store (Meyer Music, REW, Wyatt Violin Shop, etc) and see if they are able to let your student try instruments there. Please keep in mind that some may not be offering this service. Also, check out the Exploring Instruments group class over the summer through REW. (REW Exploring Instruments class)
Do I have to know anything about music to join?
Students do not need prior musical training to join band or strings! We start from the beginning with each student.
Who will be in the Band & Strings?
Your friends and fellow classmates will join you in what will be some of the most exciting times of your school days. Many band and strings students are the leaders in academic achievement, school spirit, sports and club activities.
Is there a cost?
There is no additional fee for participating in the instrumental music program; however parents are responsible for rental of instruments, music and supplies.
When is class?
Students meet as a class for 30 minute sessions 2-3 times per week during the school day.
What does the teacher look for in helping me select an instrument?
We look for good attitude, a desire to be in Band or Strings, and a willingness to work and have fun!
